Banks o’ Dee manager Jamie Watt has warned only our best will do when we face Brora Rangers at Spain Park on Saturday in the Breedon Highland League.
Jamie said: “For me, Brora have been the best team we have faced so far in the league, I’ve been really impressed by their energy and the way they play.
“There is no doubt we will need to raise our game big time if we are to have any chance of competing with them.
“It’s a challenge we are looking forward to though, because everyone enjoys the excitement that comes with facing the best sides and playing in big games.
“We managed to do it when we beat them in the League Cup up at their place last month, but they will no doubt come hear thirsting for revenge, which will make our task even tougher.
“Brora are also riding high in the league and will be eager to maintain their title challenge, so it could end up being a cracker of a game.”
Our hopes of actually competing for the title were ended by the points deduction imposed for fielding an unregistered player earlier in the season, but Jamie is demanding the players give everything they have in the remaining games to ensure we finish as high up the table as possible.
“We also play Brechin City twice this month, so we could have a say in who eventually ends up as champions,” said Jamie.
“We will be doing all that we can to take points off the top sides to help our own cause.
“There are clearly some very hard games ahead of us in December, but it would be great if we could be heading into the new year sitting a bit further up the table.”
